The 7 Days Tour in Murchison Falls & Source of the River Nile is an enriching safari experience combining Uganda’s most powerful waterfall, diverse wildlife, and rich cultural heritage. This journey takes you to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and oldest conservation area, and to Jinja, home of the legendary Source of the River Nile.
The tour features game drives, a Nile boat cruise to the base of the falls, rhino tracking, cultural encounters, and scenic explorations along the Nile, offering a perfect blend of nature, wildlife, and history.
Itinerary
Experience the Nile River at its best! This safari adventure takes you to Murchison Falls National Park, which lies at the northern end of the Albertine Rift Valley. Murchison Falls, Uganda's most favourite park is crossed by the Nile – the longest river as it flows to the Mediterranean. An adrenaline-pumping adventure also awaits you in Jinja with a rafting expedition.
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met and welcomed by your safari guide. After assistance with luggage, you will be transferred to Kampala for relaxation.
Accommodation; Serena Hotel - Kigo
After breakfast, transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. The park is renowned for its scenic beauty, diverse flora and fauna, rolling savannah, woodlands, and the spectacular waterfall where the Nile narrows and plunges through a narrow gorge.
Overnight & Meals: Paara Safari Lodge
Early morning sunrise game drive in the Nyamsika Plateau. Wildlife commonly seen includes buffaloes, giraffes, Uganda kobs, hartebeest, waterbucks, lions, leopards, hyenas, and various primates.
After lunch, enjoy a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile to the base of the falls, viewing hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, and numerous bird species.
Disembark near the “Devil’s Cauldron” and hike to the top of the falls for panoramic views and photography.
Overnight & Meals: Paara Safari Lodge
After breakfast, check out and drive towards Kampala with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking or an alternative chimpanzee experience in Budongo Forest (depending on chosen activity).
Continue to Jinja in the evening.
Overnight: Nile Resort Hotel
Explore Jinja, home to the Source of the River Nile where the Nile begins its 4,000-mile journey to the Mediterranean Sea. Visit the surrounding gardens, monuments, Rafting experience and historical sites linked to the Nile.
Overnight: Nile Resort Hotel
Visit Busowoko Waterfalls, one of the last remaining waterfalls on the upper Victoria Nile. Enjoy the waterfalls and natural water massage before lunch.
Later, experience Busoga culture through local food tastings and cultural interaction.
Overnight: Nile Resort Hotel
Transfer back to Entebbe for your departure flight (approximately 45 minutes by flight). If time allows, optional stops in Kampala for shopping, lunch.
Departure flight should be in the late afternoon or evening.
