About this trip

The excursion takes you to Jinja, located in eastern Uganda. The main activity is a visit to the Source of the River Nile, which originates from Lake Victoria.

At the Source of the Nile, visitors will:

• Walk through the beautiful gardens surrounding the area
• Visit craft shops selling African art pieces sourced from different parts of Uganda
• View and photograph historical monuments connected to the Nile

One of the historical references at the site is linked to Mahatma Gandhi, who requested that some of his ashes be sprinkled in the Nile after cremation, along with other rivers around the world.

Jinja is also described as a destination offering various touristic activities and is well known as a leisure getaway. After sightseeing and exploration at the Source of the Nile and its surroundings, the one-day excursion comes to an end.
